The Northfield Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization is an incorporated, non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that works to enrich the educational experience for the school community. The NES PTO assists with funding for classroom supplies, school enrichment programs, field trips and activities, and provides special events to help engage families and build a strong school community.

All parents of NES students, as well as all NES Teachers & Staff, are considered to be members of the PTO and are welcome to attend meetings to share ideas about the PTO and its activities. If you are unable to attend a meeting, but are interested in volunteering, or have an idea or concern, please contact the NES PTO at

The week of May 3rd-7th, the PTO honored all of our amazing Teachers & Staff for all they do for our kids and for making NES awesome! Each day of Teacher Appreciation Week, the Teachers & Staff received a small gift in addition to the opportunity to win raffle prizes. The Staff Room was decorated with flowers and messages from the kids. And of course, there was chocolate! All of this happened because of the generosity of so many people! The PTO would like to thank all of the parents and community members that contributed to Teacher Appreciation Week. First and foremost, THANK YOU to Theresa Tsipenyuk who coordinated this entire event. Her vision and ideas made the Staff Room a magical place each day! Another huge THANK YOU to Stacy Quinn who helped bring the vision to life! Thank you Theresa and Stacy for all of your hard work and dedication! THANK YOU to Laura DeLuzio and Erving Station for the donation of delicious chocolates! THANK YOU to Village Pizza for making the luncheon for the entire Staff on Thursday (with VERY short notice) and for Sandra Gradoia for picking it up and delivering it to the school! THANK YOU to the following people who donated items for the raffle, gift certificates, money for the luncheon, yummy baked goods, candy and more: Jessica Foote, Jenny Buxton, Andrea Roman, Kara Brown, Sarah Jensen, Kelly Rowan, Sue Gibson, Stacy Bond, Reina Dastous, Kristen Goodwin, Jill Leger, Sandra Gradoia, Silvia Cummings, Jill Prunier, Jenifer Hanrahan, Colleen Dowd, Erin Jaworski, Adria Paulson and Cheryl George. The Teachers and Staff had a wonderful week because of all of you! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Why should you get involved with the NES PTO?

  • Children Benefit - Research shows that children perform better when their parents participate in their child’s school and are engaged in their education.

  • School Benefits - The PTO provides support for the teachers and staff while striving to create a positive and caring atmosphere in the school community.

  • You Benefit - Volunteering with the NES PTO allows you to contribute your skills and knowledge for the benefit of not only your child, but for your school community. Being involved with the PTO helps you stay connected with the school while helping you gain a broader perspective of how you play an important role in the school community. You will make connections with other parents and school community members who share a common goal of making NES the best it can be!
